Beyonce's Tottenham takeover

I can't name many Bey tracks in all honesty. There are a few standout productions, but anything involving Diplo and Single Ladies is a cue to head to the bar.

This is my fourth Beyonce gig --so I guess it might be time to say I saw Destiny's Child at Wembley Arena once (kudos?). Mixed memories of being surrounded by lots of screaming teens waving balloons.

Fast forward to Glasto 2011 and OTRII (feat. Jay Z) and here we are.

Only this time it’s different.

Bey is now playing directly to a queer audience with a ton of house music references, classic samples and nods to the underground. Far from being the usual hen party turnout, her crowd on this outing was ridiculously cool.

The production values were quite possibly the best I've ever witnessed with styling, choreography and big budget video sequences to match. Stripped back on a tenth of the budget, she still would've rocked it.

The woman is a powerhouse.

Best of all? I felt safe holding hands with my man in the dodgiest part of London. This is why queer representation matters. Cheers Bey.
